- Martin: Founder of Earthship Eco Homes and a qualified building designer with over a decade of experience in creating Earthships tailored to the Australian context.
- Earl Boyd (aka Dirty Earl): Natural building artisan and earthen alchemist. Based in Tasmania with roots in Aotearoa (New Zealand), Earl brings over 11 years of experience across 80+ natural building projects. Earl will lead practical sessions, sharing her expertise in natural building techniques including earth rendering, and Tadelakt.
What You’ll Get Hands-On With:
- Tyre Pounding: Learn to create the core structural walls of an Earthship using rammed-earth tyres.
- Rendering: Master natural clay plasters for beautiful and durable finishes.
- Bottle Brick Making: Recycle glass bottles into creative, beautiful and functional architectural elements.
- Ferro Cement Structures: Explore this versatile building technique for crafting curved and lightweight designs.
- Tadelakt: Discover the art of this Moroccan lime plaster for stunning waterproof finishes.

- Earthship fundamentals: passive solar design, thermal mass, water harvesting, wastewater systems
- How to build with recycled materials like tyres, bottles, and cans.

- Work gloves (leather riggers or latex dipped gardening gloves, whatever you prefer)
- Work clothes
- Sun screen
- Sun glasses (and/or safety glasses)

- NOTE: Any other PPE that you need will be supplied
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- No refunds (with a few unlikely exceptions - see below). Please be sure you have made all the necessary arrangements to your life before you apply and make payment. If necessary, you may transfer your place in the workshop to another suitable person but your payment is non-refundable.
- In the event of lack of interest, mishap with council approval, bushfire, extended heat-wave, pandemic shut-down/border closures/quarantine, or other calamitous event, the workshop will be postponed or cancelled. If the organisers postpone the event you can decide to receive a 90% refund (10% is retained to cover administration expenses), or you can keep your ticket and attend on the new (postponed) dates. If the organisers cancel the event you will receive a full refund.
- Under no circumstances will your travel expenses be refunded.
- Your place in the workshop is finalised on receipt of full payment.
- Participants who are unable to comply with instructions regarding the safe and the orderly running of the workshop will NOT be allowed to participate any further in the activities (including camping) and will forfeit their payment for the workshop.
- Sexual, racial, religious or any type of harassment will not be tolerated.
- If you are under 18 years of age, you must have your parent/guardian's permission (ask them to send an email).
