Situated on a gorgeous north facing block of land in Tasmania's south, these five (!) Earthships are the homes of the future! Bushfire resilient, energy and water efficient and made with low embodied energy eco construction materials!

They will be constructed with rammed earth retaining walls instead of tyre walls to add beauty and ensure ease of construction with local tradespeople.

The entrepreneurial and ecologically minded owners are developing the land according to permaculture principles, by establishing an eco-village as a set of strata titles (an owner's corporation, where each member owns their own private dwelling and lot, and an equal share of the communal land). There will be a communal farm area with a shared fruit orchard, shed, wastewater irrigation area, shared driveways etc. It all adds up to a very economical outcome, and I expect it will be a wonderful social and ecological outcome too. Create your own community! Earthship style!

Stay tuned for more info as this project gathers momentum. The first Earthship is expected to be finished sometime early in 2024.
