WWOOFing opportunity Summer 2022!
WWOOF stands for World Wide Opportunites on Organic Farms, but in this case it is an Earthship project. Please fill out this form if you are interested in working on this project in Ironbank in South Australia. There are more tyres to pound, cob to stomp etc. The fundamentals of the "WWOOF" deal is that you work on the Earthship for 4-6 hours per day in return for free food and lodging.
Earthship Extension, Ironbank SA
This is an Earthship inspired extension to a mud brick home. The design provides an extra couple of bedrooms, a bathroom and an open plan kitchenette, living and dining area. A carport creates a covered walkway between the mud brick home and the new extension. After three weekend workshops and a couple of Sunday afternoon working bees the tyre wall is six courses high, backfilled and ready for the next six courses. More workshops scheduled for finishing the tyre wall, and then strawbale walls. Get involved!
